Therapy Topics
You may feel like you’re watching life happen from outside your body or like the world around you isn’t real.
You lose track of hours, conversations, or entire days—without clear explanation for where the time went.
Even in moments that should feel intense, joyful or painful, you feel flat, detached, or like you’re going through the motions.
You might question who you are, feel like you shift between versions of yourself, or struggle to recognize your own reactions.
You zone out during conversations, meetings, or while driving, and then feel embarrassed or disoriented afterward.
When days blur together, it’s hard to keep up with tasks, appointments, or routines without reminders or outside structure.
Because dissociation is invisible, others might not realize you're struggling, or may interpret your detachment as coldness or avoidance.
In overwhelming moments, your brain checks out—making it hard to advocate for yourself, set boundaries, or respond in real time.
You’re wondering so now what?
Therapy can help you notice when dissociation is happening, understand why it’s showing up, and build practical ways to come back to yourself safely. Together, we’ll develop personalized tools like sensory anchors, breathwork, or body-based strategies, to help you stay present during daily tasks or conversations. We can also work through the underlying experiences (such as trauma, chronic stress, or identity invalidation) that may be causing your nervous system to shut down. Over time, you may find it easier to stay connected in your relationships, feel more emotionally responsive, and trust your ability to handle distress without disconnecting.
You don’t need a diagnosis to start therapy. If any of this resonates with you, we welcome you to explore it with us—no pressure, no judgment.
