EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is a structured, evidence-based approach to processing traumatic or distressing experiences that continue to affect your present-day life. It helps reduce the emotional intensity of past memories by supporting your brain’s natural healing process—without requiring you to retell your story in detail. EMDR can be especially helpful for people navigating trauma, complex PTSD, anxiety, or negative beliefs about themselves that feel hard to shake.
You don’t need to walk through every detail of what happened. EMDR works by focusing on specific memories or emotions while using bilateral stimulation (like eye movements or tapping) to reduce their intensity.
EMDR helps your body and brain shift out of fight/flight/freeze states. Many clients report feeling less reactive, more grounded, and better able to respond to stress after sessions.
